A fruitful two-day workshop on Secure Processing Environments (SPEs) was hosted by EOSC-Life and HealthyCloud on June 19-20.
Crucial need for this workshop
Many projects and the European law (e.g. Data Governance Act and the draft EHDS Regulation) are built on the assumption that personal data should only be processed in a “Secure Processing Environment” (SPE), as defined in Art. 2 (14) DGA.
What happened at the workshop?
More than 150 experts from academic, industrial, and policymaking sectors, including project partners from BBMRI-ERIC and BSC, and came together at this event to discuss the technical and organisational steps that would need to be taken to effectively implement the European Health Data Space (EHDS) and support recent advances in the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).
