The workshop goal is to extract and discuss basic technical and organisational requirements to build such an SPE, especially one that complies with the GDA (German Occupational Safety and Health Strategy) and the EHDS (European Health Data Space) requirements.
Many projects and the European law (e.g. Data Governance Act and the draft EHDS Regulation) are built on the assumption that personal data should only be processed in a “Secure Processing Environment” (SPE), as defined in Art. 2 (14) DGA.
Therefore, we will discuss:
Whether a consensus exists on technical and organisational measures on TREs/SPEs
What/where certifications are used to demonstrate the compliance
What approval mechanisms are in place in different countries
Workshop outcome: A report on minimum requirements that can be applied to establish whether a compliant SPE is appropriate for processing personal health data.
